What’s it really like?

Amelia Humber has worked in the hospitality industry all her life, and she

(do) _. After this I started working as a receptionist at a hotel, and gradually

position for a number of years and (earn) _ the trust and respect of my

employers. I was later (award) _ with an assistant housekeeper job, which

which went towards a diploma in hotel management. After a few years in this

position, I left the company and (join) _ the hotel chain Novotel, and after

working as an assistant position for a year, I (promote) _ to head

housekeeper. This was a very demanding job and I was unable to remain in the

position fulltime once I (have) _ children, but I replaced this with a job share

and (return) to fulltime work once the kids (be) _ all at school. After 15

years of being back in this position my husband and I (decide) _ to turn our

house into a Bed and Breakfast and make our money out of the spare rooms we

housekeeper. The job of a housekeeper (be) _ demanding as you have to be

great with people but willing to stand your own ground. It is very rewarding
